Vic Mensa is expanding his voice beyond music with the launch of his new weekly podcast, The Vic Mensa Show. The Chicago rapper, activist, and cultural commentator is using the platform to create deeper conversations around music, politics, identity, creativity, and the issues shaping today’s world.

According to Complex, the 33-year-old artist is launching the podcast in partnership with Mass Appeal. The first season will feature 24 episodes and is scheduled to premiere on August 26, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday. The show is also being produced alongside Blank Square Productions and Pickup Media.

The Vic Mensa Show will feature long-form conversations with special guests from different areas of entertainment, activism, media, and culture. The first episode will include Chance the Rapper, Vic’s longtime collaborator and fellow Chicago artist. Other guests expected to appear during the season include Durand Bernarr, Rapsody, Lena Waithe, Aja Monet, and Van Lathan Jr.

For Vic, the podcast appears to be a natural extension of the conversations he has already been having online. He has built a reputation for speaking openly about social issues, politics, Black identity, global culture, and hip-hop. In recent years, many fans have seen him share thoughtful videos in front of an orange tree, where he discussed serious topics while mixing honesty, humor, and personal reflection.

Vic said that The Orange Tree showed him how powerful conversation could be. He described it as a space where radical ideas, humor, honesty, and vulnerability could all exist together. Now, with The Vic Mensa Show, he is expanding that same energy into a full podcast format with guests he respects across different creative and intellectual fields.

A trailer for the series gives fans a preview of the tone of the show. Vic jokes about whether the world really needs another man with a podcast microphone, but the preview also shows that the series will balance comedy, honest dialogue, cultural commentary, and personal storytelling. The trailer includes moments of Vic joking with Chance the Rapper while also having more serious and emotional conversations with guests like Rapsody.

The timing of the podcast launch comes shortly after Vic Mensa made headlines for public commentary involving Cam’ron and remarks about Africa. Cam’ron recently accused Vic of “clickbaiting” and “clout-chasing” after Vic criticized him over offensive comments connected to African heritage. That controversy added to the larger conversation around how Vic uses his platform to challenge public figures, defend Black culture, and speak on issues he believes matter.

The Vic Mensa Show gives him a new space to continue those conversations in a more structured way. Instead of short social media clips or quick reactions, the podcast allows Vic and his guests to go deeper into complicated topics, creative journeys, personal beliefs, and cultural debates.

For fans who have followed Vic Mensa from his music career to his activism, this podcast marks another evolution. He has always been an artist willing to speak his mind, whether through lyrics, interviews, community work, or public commentary. With The Vic Mensa Show, he is positioning himself not just as a rapper, but as a host, thinker, and cultural voice.

The first episode of The Vic Mensa Show premieres August 26, with new episodes arriving weekly.
