SZA is officially bringing her creative vision to Vans with the launch of her first full collection for the brand. The singer’s VANSZA Drop 1 is scheduled to release on October 22, 2026, marking the first major product rollout since she became Vans’ Artistic Director.
SZA was named Artistic Director of Vans in August 2025 as part of a multi-year creative partnership. In that role, she has worked with the company on campaigns and product development while helping shape a new visual direction around individuality, creativity and community.
The VANSZA collection moves beyond a simple celebrity collaboration by incorporating SZA’s personal interests, style and connection to nature into both footwear and apparel.

Two sneakers headline the first drop: the VANSZA Knu Skool Mule and the VANSZA Authentic Kickdown.
The Knu Skool Mule takes Vans’ chunky Knu Skool silhouette and transforms it into a backless slip-on design. The first version arrives in a black-and-white colorway and includes small insect-inspired graphics on the insole, tying into the larger nature theme running throughout the collection.
The Authentic Kickdown offers a different interpretation of one of Vans’ classic shoes. It features a distressed white canvas upper decorated with custom fish artwork, along with a collapsible heel that allows wearers to step into the shoe without fully pulling it on.
That fold-down design has a personal connection to SZA. According to the original report, she has joked that her mother frequently told her to stop stepping on the backs of her shoes. Instead of eliminating that habit, the collaboration builds it directly into the design.
The nature-inspired artwork also reflects SZA’s longtime interest in the outdoors and marine life. She studied marine biology before fully pursuing music, and the collection incorporates fish, butterflies, insects and other natural imagery throughout its footwear and clothing.
Custom watercolor artwork by artist Sage Adams appears throughout the project, helping give the collection a handmade and personal look rather than relying only on traditional Vans branding.
Footwear prices begin at $110 for the Authentic Kickdown, while the Knu Skool Mule is expected to retail for $115.
The collection goes well beyond sneakers. VANSZA Drop 1 also includes a full apparel range made up of hoodies, denim, shorts, sweatpants, layered tops, utility pieces and outdoor-inspired clothing.
One of the collection’s major themes is reworking traditional workwear into something more relaxed and comfortable. Vans says SZA wanted the clothing to have the appearance of rugged utility gear while still feeling easy enough for everyday wear.
Among the standout pieces is the VANSZA Multi-Pocket Denim Pant, which features a loose fit, multiple utility pockets, a worn-in wash and subtle paint-splatter details. The pants are priced at $175.
There is also a VANSZA Hunting Vest, made with durable nylon ripstop and featuring oversized cargo pockets, a bright orange lining and a boxy silhouette designed for layering. That piece is listed at $120.
Other pieces include oversized shorts, parachute pants, flannel-inspired outerwear and checkered designs that combine traditional Vans elements with SZA’s outdoors-focused aesthetic.
VANSZA was first previewed publicly during New York Fashion Week in September, where Vans created an immersive experience designed around nature, self-discovery and SZA’s creative world. The event gave fans an early look at both the footwear and clothing before the official October launch.
The campaign imagery continues that direction. Rather than using a traditional studio setting, the lookbook was photographed in a dry California landscape, giving the collection an earthy, outdoor feel that matches the design language of the clothes and sneakers.
SZA is also making several appearances surrounding the launch. She is scheduled to visit the Vans store at Glendale Galleria in California on October 17, followed by an appearance at Foot Locker at Freehold Raceway Mall in New Jersey on October 21.
The October release will only be the beginning of the VANSZA rollout. Vans has already confirmed that Drop 2 is scheduled for April 8, 2027.
According to HotNewHipHop, the second drop is expected to expand the footwear lineup with additional styles, including a Tabi-inspired hiking shoe and another Knu Skool design featuring camouflage details.
For SZA, VANSZA represents one of her most substantial moves into fashion and product design. Rather than simply appearing in a campaign, she is helping shape the products themselves through her role as Artistic Director.
The collection brings together several parts of her identity—music, fashion, nature, comfort and personal storytelling—while also allowing Vans to reinterpret some of its most familiar silhouettes.
With VANSZA Drop 1 officially arriving October 22, SZA is beginning a new chapter with Vans that extends her creative influence well beyond music.
