Rod Wave may be thinking much bigger when it comes to a possible collaboration with NBA YoungBoy. The Florida singer and rapper recently sparked excitement among fans after suggesting that the two could eventually join forces for a stadium tour.
The conversation started after DJ Akademiks posted on social media about wanting to see Rod Wave and NBA YoungBoy hit the road together. Akademiks suggested that the pair should not only tour but possibly release a joint album or EP as well. Rod Wave quickly responded with an ambitious update, writing that he had already told YoungBoy they were “going stadium.”
Rod’s response immediately caught the attention of fans because both artists have developed extremely loyal audiences over the past several years. While no official tour has been announced, his comment suggests that the idea of a large-scale joint run has at least been discussed between the two artists.
A Rod Wave and NBA YoungBoy stadium tour would bring together two of the most successful melodic rap artists of their generation. Both are known for emotionally driven music that blends hip-hop with singing, pain-focused lyrics and personal storytelling.
The two artists have also maintained mutual respect and a friendship over the years, making the possibility of a joint tour especially appealing to fans who have followed both careers.
For now, however, the stadium tour remains only an idea. Neither Rod Wave nor NBA YoungBoy has announced dates, venues or an official partnership, and no promoter has confirmed that a tour is currently being booked.
There could also be logistical challenges. HotNewHipHop noted that NBA YoungBoy is currently living outside the United States, which could complicate plans for an extended U.S. stadium run. Still, that does not necessarily rule out future performances if scheduling and travel arrangements can be worked out.
Rod Wave is currently focused on his own Don’t Look Down Tour, which began in September 2026 and includes more than 20 arena dates across the United States. The tour supports his seventh studio album, Don’t Look Down, which was released on August 28.
The tour includes stops in cities such as Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Chicago, Brooklyn and Atlanta. Fridayy is joining Rod as a special guest on the current run.
Rod has also been expanding his influence behind the scenes through Mainstay Touring, his concert promotion company. HotNewHipHop reported that the company has already been involved with major events beyond Rod’s own concerts, including Ye’s large-scale SoFi Stadium performances earlier in 2026. A successful joint stadium tour with NBA YoungBoy could represent another major step for the company.
YoungBoy has also demonstrated strong touring demand of his own. His recent MASA Tour generated significant attention and helped reinforce his ability to draw large audiences after years in which touring opportunities were limited by legal and travel restrictions.
That makes the idea of combining both fanbases especially significant. Rod Wave has built his career around emotionally charged live performances and consistent arena touring, while YoungBoy has one of hip-hop’s most dedicated streaming and online audiences.
A stadium run featuring both artists could potentially become one of the larger hip-hop tours of its era if it ultimately comes together.
The idea also arrives at a time when joint tours featuring two major headliners have become less common. Pairing Rod Wave and YoungBoy would allow both artists to share the same stage while giving fans a show built around two large catalogs and overlapping audiences.
There has also been fan interest in seeing the two collaborate beyond touring. Akademiks’ original post suggested a joint album or EP, although neither Rod nor YoungBoy has confirmed that they are working on a full collaborative project.
At the moment, fans should view the stadium-tour talk as a tease rather than an official announcement. Rod Wave’s comment shows that he has discussed the idea with NBA YoungBoy, but there are currently no confirmed dates or additional details.
Still, if the plan eventually becomes reality, a Rod Wave and NBA YoungBoy stadium tour could bring together two of the most passionate fanbases in modern hip-hop for one of the biggest live collaborations either artist has attempted.
