Kodak Black and Sexyy Red are reportedly among the artists whose music will be featured in Grand Theft Auto VI, adding even more excitement around the highly anticipated Rockstar Games release.

The new details surfaced following an in-depth Dazed feature on GTA VI, which offered a closer look at the game’s world, characters, music and updated gameplay systems. Rockstar developers discussed how heavily Miami and Florida culture influenced the creation of Vice City and the larger fictional state of Leonida.

Music is expected to once again play a major role in the Grand Theft Auto experience. During the interview, Rockstar senior vice president of narrative Rupert Humphries spoke about the team’s appreciation for Miami’s musical history, ranging from classic Miami bass to newer hip-hop sounds. Kodak Black and Sexyy Red were specifically mentioned while discussing the contemporary music that helped inspire the atmosphere of the game.

HotNewHipHop reports that tracks from both Kodak Black and Sexyy Red are expected to appear in GTA VI. According to the outlet, leaked material from the game included Sexyy Red’s breakout hit “Pound Town,” although Rockstar has not publicly revealed which Kodak Black song may appear.

Kodak’s involvement would fit naturally with the game’s Florida setting. The rapper was born and raised in South Florida and has become one of the region’s most recognizable hip-hop artists. His music could help Rockstar give the fictional Vice City a soundtrack that reflects the sound and personality of modern Florida rap.

Sexyy Red, meanwhile, comes from St. Louis rather than Miami, but she has become one of the most prominent voices in contemporary rap. Her inclusion would further demonstrate Rockstar’s effort to combine regional influences with popular hip-hop records from across the country.

The soundtrack is also expected to feature multiple in-game radio stations covering different genres and eras. One reportedly planned station, called “Dirty South Classics,” is expected to focus on Southern hip-hop from the 1990s and early 2000s, while another station is expected to highlight more current rap music.

Music has long been an important part of the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Players can listen to radio stations while driving throughout the open world, with Rockstar traditionally combining licensed songs, fictional DJs, advertisements and talk-radio segments to make each game’s city feel more authentic.

The Dazed interview also revealed several major gameplay details surrounding GTA VI. Players will control protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos while exploring Vice City and other areas throughout Leonida. Rockstar says the world will be significantly more reactive, with non-playable characters responding more realistically to what players do around them.

Character customization and physical changes are also becoming more advanced. Eating can affect Jason and Lucia’s weight, while exercising can visibly change their physiques. Spending extended periods without proper rest can also affect how the characters look, creating another layer of realism within the open-world experience.

Rockstar is also placing considerable emphasis on the culture surrounding modern-day Vice City. Social media, nightlife, fashion, wealth, local communities and music are all expected to contribute to the game’s portrayal of a fictionalized version of contemporary Florida.

With Kodak Black and Sexyy Red reportedly joining the musical lineup, hip-hop fans could have plenty to listen to while cruising through Vice City. Additional artists and songs are likely to become clearer as Rockstar reveals more information about the game and its radio stations.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
