Drake continues to add major commercial milestones to his résumé as his latest album, ICEMAN, has reportedly surpassed two million units sold in the United States, making the project eligible for a 2x Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.
According to HotNewHipHop, citing music platform Kurrco, ICEMAN crossed the two-million-unit mark roughly four months after its release. While eligibility does not necessarily mean the RIAA has formally issued the certification yet, reaching that sales threshold represents another major achievement for one of 2026’s biggest hip-hop releases.
The milestone comes after ICEMAN quickly established itself as another major commercial success for Drake. Since arriving earlier this year, the album has generated several popular records, including “Janice STFU,” “Shabang,” and “2 Hard 4 The Radio,” which have spent time near or at the top of the Billboard charts.
ICEMAN initially became eligible for Platinum status in June after reportedly surpassing one million equivalent album units in the United States. Now, just a few months later, the project has doubled that total, demonstrating its continued streaming and sales strength well beyond its opening weeks.
The success is especially significant given the pressure surrounding Drake heading into the project. ICEMAN arrived following one of the most heavily discussed periods of his career, including his highly publicized battle with Kendrick Lamar and the larger conversation surrounding Drake’s place in hip-hop.
Rather than stepping away from the spotlight, Drake used ICEMAN as an opportunity to return with an aggressive and competitive approach. Throughout the album, he mixes sharp rap performances with the melodic and R&B-driven style that has helped define his career, while also addressing several artists and situations that have surrounded him in recent years.
Commercially, the strategy appears to have worked. The album has remained one of the year’s strongest-performing rap releases months after its debut. HotNewHipHop previously reported that ICEMAN became the best-selling rap album of 2026 by late June, further establishing its position among the year’s biggest releases.
Drake has also continued reaching massive streaming numbers outside of the album itself. In August, he reportedly became the first artist to surpass 140 billion total streams on Spotify, while averaging more than 58 million daily streams and accumulating over 14 billion streams during 2026 alone.
Despite ICEMAN still generating major numbers, speculation has already begun surrounding Drake’s next move. Rumors have circulated that another project titled FOMO could be on the way, although nothing has been officially confirmed. HotNewHipHop noted that a tour may be more likely in the immediate future considering how much momentum ICEMAN continues to generate.
Drake has already begun giving fans a taste of what an ICEMAN live show could look like. During Don Toliver’s recent Toronto stop on the OCTANE Tour, Drake made a surprise appearance and performed songs from the album, including “Janice STFU” and “Burning Bridges.”
Whether Drake follows the album with another project or takes ICEMAN on the road, reaching two million U.S. units only four months after release shows that the project continues to have significant staying power.
With multiple hit records, major streaming numbers and reported Double-Platinum eligibility, ICEMAN has added another major commercial chapter to Drake’s already record-breaking career.
