A man accused of stealing unreleased Beyoncé music and sensitive tour materials has officially been sentenced after reaching a plea agreement in court. The case, which first gained attention in 2025, involved the theft of hard drives reportedly containing unreleased songs, show footage, and future concert plans connected to Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter era.
The suspect, identified as Kelvin Evans, pleaded guilty in Fulton County court to charges tied to the break-in of a rental vehicle used by members of Beyoncé’s creative team. According to investigators, Evans broke into a Jeep Wagoneer belonging to choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue while the team was in Atlanta preparing for Beyoncé’s concert run at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Authorities said two suitcases were stolen during the incident, containing hard drives loaded with unreleased and watermarked Beyoncé music, concert setlists, footage plans, and other confidential production materials. Additional stolen items reportedly included laptops, designer clothing, and electronic devices.
After initially pleading not guilty and rejecting an earlier plea deal, Evans later changed his plea just before trial. The court sentenced him to five years total, with two years to be served in prison and the remainder on probation. As part of the agreement, he was also ordered to avoid contact with the victims involved in the case.
Investigators were able to connect Evans to the crime using surveillance footage and tracking information from stolen electronic devices, including AirPods and laptops. Despite the arrest and sentencing, reports indicate that many of the stolen materials—including the unreleased music—have still not been recovered.
The theft occurred during a major period in Beyoncé’s career, shortly before her Cowboy Carter tour dates in Atlanta. Despite the security breach, the tour went on to become one of the highest-grossing tours of the year, further solidifying Beyoncé’s dominance in music and live entertainment.
