A$AP Rocky is giving one aspiring student a major opportunity to pursue a career in music, sports, or entertainment. The Harlem rapper has announced a new four-year, full-tuition scholarship for a student attending the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment at Long Island University in Brooklyn.

The scholarship will be awarded to one incoming first-time freshman enrolling for the Fall 2027 semester. The selected student will have tuition covered for all four years, removing one of the biggest financial barriers associated with earning a college degree.

Rocky said the initiative reflects his belief in helping young people create their own opportunities. He explained that there are talented students with ambition, ideas, and something meaningful to contribute, and that the scholarship is intended to help one of them turn that potential into a real career path.

The opportunity goes beyond tuition assistance. According to the announcement, the recipient will also receive one-on-one mentorship from entertainment-industry professionals, automatic participation in Roc Nation’s academic and mentorship network, and hands-on experience working in a professional Dolby Atmos studio.

That combination of traditional education and real-world training is a major part of the Roc Nation School’s approach. The program was created through a partnership between Long Island University and Roc Nation and offers degree paths connected to areas including music technology, entrepreneurship, vocal performance, sports management, and sports communication and marketing.

Students at the school are also given opportunities to connect with professionals working throughout music, sports, and entertainment. The curriculum emphasizes industry experience, mentorship, internships, and professional networking alongside classroom instruction.

Rocky’s scholarship adds to the financial-aid opportunities already available through the program. The school’s Roc Nation Hope Scholarship initiative contributes toward tuition-free education for roughly 25 percent of each incoming class, with recipients also receiving mentorship, career connections, and other academic support.

Several other major figures from entertainment and sports have previously supported scholarship programs connected to the school. Past participants include Megan Thee Stallion, DJ Khaled, Young Guru, and LaMelo Ball, helping create additional pathways for students who want to enter competitive creative industries.

Rocky’s involvement comes during an especially active period in his career. Alongside his music, touring, fashion ventures, and other creative projects, he has increasingly discussed using his platform to create opportunities outside of entertainment itself. The scholarship gives that effort a direct educational focus by supporting a student throughout an entire undergraduate program.

The initiative also fits Rocky’s long-standing connection to fashion, entrepreneurship, and creative independence. Throughout his career, he has expanded beyond being strictly a recording artist, working across design, film, branding, and business. His scholarship could help another young creative gain both the education and industry access needed to build a similarly diverse career.

Applications for the scholarship are open now and will remain available through December 15, 2026. Applicants must be first-time freshmen planning to begin attending the Roc Nation School in Fall 2027.

For the student ultimately selected, the opportunity could provide much more than free tuition. Between full financial support, mentorship, professional studio access, and exposure to Roc Nation’s industry network, the scholarship is designed to give one emerging creative a stronger foundation for entering the music, sports, or entertainment business.

Rocky’s latest initiative adds another major name to the group of artists and industry leaders investing in education while giving the next generation a clearer path into fields that can often be difficult to enter without professional connections or financial resources.
