Metro Boomin speaks with Forbes Reporter, Matt Craig on creative opportunities as a producer, giving back to single mothers, and how he hopes to push the hip hop movement forward.

Metro Boomin is regarded as one of the most influential producers in modern hip hop and trap music. His frequent collaborators include Future, Young Thug, the Weeknd, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, 21 Savage, Gucci Mane, Gunna and Nav.

Raised in St. Louis, Missouri, the artist began his career in music production in 2009 at the age of 16. He relocated to Atlanta to attend Morehouse College in 2011, during which he worked extensively with Atlanta-based artists including Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Gucci Mane, and Migos.

Metro performed at the 22nd Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2023.On June 23, 2023, Metro Boomin co-produced Young Thug's third studio album, Business Is Business. He also served as the executive producer of the album. Metro produced the lobby theme track for Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 4 Season OG, released in November 2023.
