Busta Rhymes on Power Players

About this Interview

Busta Rhymes has been releasing records for thirty-five years and still owns them. On what streaming pays for that catalogue, he asks Brian Sozzi whether anyone would accept being compensated "a fraction of a penny" without feeling "your intelligence was being insulted." His verdict: "They don't even have a name for the currency that is called fractions of a penny, because that name and that currency doesn't actually exist." Then the harder question: how do you audit a fraction of a penny? He would not rule out selling the catalogue.
