Muni Long on HOT 97

About this Interview

Muni Long stopped by HOT 97 to talk to Nessa about her new song “Richest” and the personal journey behind her music. She opened up about being nine months post-double lung transplant, relearning how to walk and sing, and why she’s still not ready to fully perform. Muni also reflected on how the experience changed the way she handles stress, protects her peace and speaks her mind. Muni also talked about her belief in astrology despite growing up in the church, why she thinks artists shouldn’t be afraid of AI, and why she says AI can never replace the human experience behind music. She shared her thoughts on the Grammys, revisited the viral story about J. Cole walking out of a studio session because of the energy in the room, and revealed that she would love to work with Drake — while joking about what she has to do to finally get an OVO chain. Plus, she teased her upcoming album and some major R&B collaborations she has in the works.
